The Director, Accounting Operations (G6) provides strategic leadership and oversight for multitier finance operations teams supporting IOM and IOMBU accounting processes. This role is accountable for end-to-end delivery of accounting operations, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives, compliance standards, and operational excellence. The position leads internal teams and third-party providers, drives accountability for quality and timeliness, and partners closely with Market Finance, Global Process Owners, and Enterprise stakeholders. This role oversees managers and indirect teams across multiple regions.

DutiesKey Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for multitier finance operations teams supporting IOM & IOMBU accounting processes
- Lead and direct accounting operations support functions, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and compliance standards
- Drive accountability for accuracy, quality, and timeliness of deliverables across internal teams and third-party providers
- Establish and monitor performance benchmarks, governance routines, and escalation protocols
- Exercise sound judgment in escalating critical issues to market controllers or relationship managers, balancing risk, impact, and resolution paths
- Cultivate strong partnerships with IOM Market Finance stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and delivery
- Support transformation initiatives, process standardization, and continuous improvement across accounting operations
- Operate effectively in a complex, global, matrixed environment spanning multiple regions
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Significant progressive experience in accounting operations, controllership, or finance operations roles
- English Proficiency (written and verbal IRL Level 4)
- Proven experience leading multitier teams and managing third-party service providers
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and compliance standards
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence, performance management, and governance
- Experience working in large, matrixed, multinational organizations
- Strong business partnership, communication, and influencing skills
- Ability to navigate complexity, manage risk, and deliver results across geographies
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, or local equivalent) preferred
