This Full-time position requires working 40 hours per week, with availability across a variety of shifts covering weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, and overnight hours. What does a day as a Trainee Manager look like?
In your first nine months you’ll be on an accelerated training programme, you’ll immerse yourself in the heart of our business, gaining hands-on experience across every area of our restaurant operations working on the restaurant floor. From working in our kitchens and service areas to engaging with customers and supporting our drive-thru, you’ll learn how our values come to life in real time, building the confidence and capability to make a meaningful impact across all day parts. This fast-paced training programme is your launchpad into leadership. As you gain momentum, you’ll take ownership of shifts, leading and inspiring your team and begin to build experience leading key systems and processes along with playing a vital role in shaping the experience we deliver every day. As you progress through on-the-job training, you’ll be promoted into managerial roles, setting the stage for continued career growth and development within the restaurant.
What will be expected of me when I have completed my initial training?
Once initial training is complete, you’ll play a key role in driving operational excellence and team engagement across the restaurant floor. You’ll lead by example, inspire high performance, and ensure smooth shift execution while delivering an exceptional experience for both customers and employees.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Foster a culture of trust, inclusion, and continuous improvement through active listening, coaching, feedback, and recognition, while consistently displaying the correct behaviours to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
- Lead with integrity and align decisions with McDonald’s Values, promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
- Role model customer-focused behaviours and demonstrate flexibility and approachability.
- Coach and develop team members, providing regular feedback and growth opportunities.
- Manage teams effectively across all day parts in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with the management team to implement strategies that drive sales and profitability.
- Monitor internal and external trends to identify opportunities for business improvement.
- Analyse operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, diagnose issues, and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and service quality.

Position Requirements:
- This fast-tracked development programme is open to individuals with at least one year of experience leading or managing teams, whether within the hospitality sector or in other industries. It’s also suitable for graduates looking to fast-track their leadership journey.

- You bring resilience, and a strong sense of teamwork, using your determination to help the team succeed together.
